Applewood School Council
The Applewood School Council serves as an advisory group that shares ideas and perspectives to support the principal and, when appropriate, the school in making decisions on educational matters. The council’s input reflects the collective views of our school community and is guided by the best interests of all students.
We strive to follow the general guidelines of a School Council as closely as possible, while recognizing the varying levels of availability and involvement among our members.
Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the school library. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend and participate.
What Does the Applewood School Council Do?
The Applewood School Council is an advisory group that works in partnership with the principal and, when appropriate, the school, to provide input on key educational matters. Council members help identify priorities and share ideas that reflect the interests of the broader school community, supporting the success of all students.
Some areas where the Council may offer input include:
- Planning the school’s calendar of fundraising events
- Developing a school council constitution that aligns with the District School Board of Niagara policies and procedures
- Improving communication and engagement with parents and the wider community
We welcome all parents and guardians to get involved and share their voices. Together, we help shape a positive and inclusive school environment.
