As of July 1, 2015, Junior Kindergarten (born 2011) children enrolled in Junior Kindergarten in Ontario are able to participate in the Eye See...Eye Learn® program for the 2015/2016 school year:
Eye See…Eye Learn® provides comprehensive eye exams by local Doctors of Optometry to junior kindergarten students in participating school regions. The eye exams are covered under provincial health insurance (or OHIP) when you show your child’s health card. This means that there is no out-of-pocket cost for the eye exam.
The Eye See...Eye Learn® program was developed to raise awareness among parents of the importance of having their children's eyes checked when starting school. Each year, thousands of children start school without ever having an eye exam.
Contact a local participating optometrist* to have your child’s Eye See…Eye Learn® exam by June 30, 2016. Bring your child’s health card with you on the day of the exam. It's that eas*Participating doctors will have the following frog head next to their name:
